Human Design Academy by Ra Uru Hu: RaZen - Being Correct

What Is RaZen?

It is the art of surrendering to one’s Strategy and Authority, trusting the body’s intelligence over the conditioned mind. “Being Correct” does not mean moral correctness or perfection—it refers to being in alignment with one’s true self, free from resistance, struggle, and distortion.
The mind, though powerful in analysis and observation, is not designed to make decisions. It is a passenger, meant to witness the journey rather than control it. RaZen is about recognizing this and allowing life to happen through us, rather than attempting to force it into a mental framework of expectations.
The Mechanics of Being Correct
RaZen is rooted in the fundamental mechanics of Human Design, particularly the relationship between the Design Crystal, Personality Crystal, and Magnetic Monopole.
- The Design Crystal – Governs the body and its unconscious intelligence. It operates beyond our awareness, ensuring that our form moves through the world in a way that is natural to our genetic code.
- The Personality Crystal – Represents the conscious self, the observer, the passenger in the vehicle of the body. It is not meant to interfere with the body’s decisions but rather to enjoy the ride.
- The Magnetic Monopole – A unifying force that holds together our illusion of separateness while keeping us on our unique trajectory in life. It attracts the correct experiences, relationships, and opportunities as long as we are aligned with our true design.
When we trust these mechanics and surrender control, we experience correctness—our life unfolds without unnecessary resistance, and we find ourselves in the right place, with the right people, at the right time.
Living RaZen: The Practical Application
Ra Uru Hu emphasized that correctness is not an intellectual exercise—it is an embodied experience. Here’s how we can live RaZen in everyday life:
1. Following Strategy and Authority
Each Human Design Type has a unique Strategy for decision-making, while Authority dictates how to make the correct choices. This is the core of correctness:
- Generators & Manifesting Generators: Wait to respond.
- Projectors: Wait for recognition and invitation.
- Manifestors: Inform before initiating.
- Reflectors: Wait through a full lunar cycle.
By honoring our Strategy and Authority, we remove the pressure of mental decision-making and allow life to unfold naturally.
2. Letting Go of the Mind’s Control
The mind is conditioned to seek control, create stories, and force outcomes. RaZen is about releasing this compulsion. Instead of making decisions through mental pressure, we observe thoughts without attachment and allow Strategy and Authority to lead.
3. Witnessing Without Resistance
Life is not about forcing outcomes but about witnessing what unfolds. Being correct means recognizing that challenges, setbacks, and surprises are all part of the unique geometry of our journey. Rather than resisting, we observe with awareness and trust the process.
4. Accepting the Perfection of the Mechanics
Ra Uru Hu often spoke about the perfection of the mechanics. There is no need to fix or alter life—it is already operating correctly when we stop interfering. Our role is to trust that we are exactly where we need to be at every moment.

When we live in correctness, we experience:
- Effortlessness: Life flows naturally, without the exhaustion of pushing against the wrong circumstances.
- Correct Relationships: The right people enter our lives while those who are not meant for us fall away.

- Clarity: Decisions become clear and correct because they arise from the body’s intelligence rather than mental confusion.
