Human Design, as transmitted by Ra Uru Hu in 1987, is a revolutionary system that synthesizes ancient wisdom and modern science. It provides a mechanical blueprint of human existence, revealing the unique ways we are designed to operate in the world. One of Ra’s core teachings revolves around what he called "Being Correct," a state of alignment with our true nature through the practice of Strategy and Authority. Within this framework, Ra Uru Hu introduced the concept of "RaZen," an approach to living that embodies deep surrender to one’s Design.
RaZen is not about external disciplines, self-improvement, or forcing oneself into an idealized state of being. Instead, it is about relaxing into the absolute correctness of one’s own nature. Ra often emphasized that the only path to correctness is through following one’s Strategy and Authority. These two fundamental principles eliminate resistance and allow life to unfold as it is meant to. Each Type has a distinct Strategy:
Generators (including Manifesting Generators) are designed to respond to life, trusting their Sacral energy to guide them.
Projectors must wait for the right invitations, aligning themselves with recognition and correct environments.
Manifestors are built to initiate but must inform others to minimize resistance.
Reflectors require time and patience, moving in alignment with the lunar cycle to gain clarity.
Authority, on the other hand, determines how an individual makes decisions. Whether it is Emotional, Sacral, Splenic, Ego, G-Center, Lunar, or No Inner Authority, each Authority carries an intrinsic intelligence that bypasses the distortions of the mind. RaZen is about surrendering to this innate intelligence and trusting that correctness arises naturally.
The Zen of Being: Doing Nothing, Yet Everything Happens
Ra often spoke about the paradox of correctness. It is not something one actively seeks but something one surrenders to. This aligns with the concept of Wu Wei from Taoism—effortless action. The greatest challenge to correctness is the mind’s incessant interference. Ra was clear: the mind is an observer, not a decision-maker. The process of deconditioning takes time, often seven years or more, as the cellular structure realigns itself to the mechanics of Design.
During this process, those who live correctly will notice how their experiences shift. Instead of resistance, synchronicity emerges. Instead of struggle, natural flow takes its place. The energy required to push against life dissipates, and in its absence, the true self begins to emerge.
RaZen is not a technique, practice, or philosophy—it is a state of being. It is the quiet confidence that arises from knowing one is exactly where they need to be. Through surrendering to Strategy and Authority, correctness becomes an effortless way of life, free from unnecessary struggle.
